Palm Reading

Apr 25

I have a new friend who does palm readings. I got mine done and thought it was pretty neat.

I’ve been finding it super-interesting lately about how so many things that I study match up. My Myers Briggs matches up to my palm reading which matches up to my Wealth Dynamics which matches up to my “Strong Suits” from Landmark Forum, etc…

And it’s all not just regular stuff. For example, a lot of them mention I don’t like abstract thinking, which is not a general thing that can make sense for everyone. The lust for life is also not something everyone experiences, or life getting progressively better from childhood (a Myers Briggs expert pointed out that that’s common for my type – INFJ’s).

The reason I’m into these things is because if accurate, they help you understand yourself and why you do things better. It’s easier to play with your strong suits versus try to push yourself into doing things you’re not innately good at (like abstract thinking for me). The palm reading thing is cool for me because I’ve been finding more and more lately how much wisdom is in our bodies.

Here’s what my palm says about me (along with a picture of my palm so you can follow along):

You have a cone shaped hand, with fair skin and long, tapered fingers. This indicates a sensitive nature, a strong appreciation for beautiful things and a desire to create and connect things that you love. Your strong knuckles, though, indicate that although you are very thoughtful and can become completely absorbed in your own observations, you are grounded in your relationships with others and will at times sacrifice your own feelings to maintain relationships that you think are important.

Your life line, which is the curved line that goes down your palm, is somewhat faint but extremely long with a nice curve. It gains strength as it continues. This indicates that at the start of your life, you were somewhat timid, and separation of your life line from your head line indicates that you did not feel as supported as you would have liked as a child/adolescent. Eventually, though, your desire for self-discovery led you to gain confidence and strength, and the large curve of your life indicates a strong lust for life and a desire to find answers to some of life’s more difficult questions.

Your head line is the horizontal line that begins right above your life line. Your is somewhat short and straight. When making decisions, you tend to get directly to the point, and have a very strong rational ability. You don’t like to be distracted by too many details, and you have the tendency to resist abstract thinking. Others look to you when they need someone ‘with a good head on their shoulders’ and you like to fill this role.

Your heart line is the horizontal line that crosses along your palm closest to your fingers. Yours is particularly strong, and in fact is the most defined line on your palm. You have a huge heart and are extremely skilled at connecting with others and understanding their issues. In fact, this can sometimes overshadow your own problems, and you can get yourself into sticky situations trying to help others when they do not wish to be helped. The crosses at the start of your line indicate that you have been through some difficult romantic and/or family relationships. It’s important for you to focus on your own needs first and evaluate relationships from that perspective so that you can find the partnership that your heart deserves.

If you’re interested in having your palm read, the cost’d be $10 or something, and you would need a clear picture of the dominant hand you write with. Leave a comment on here and I’ll get the details. :)

Everything I’m Making Happen In The Next 30 Days: Day 3

Apr 24

My 30 day “Choose-fest” is off to a phenomenal start. :)

I’ve been taking lots of actions in getting things done and have already seen some great results.

In order of what I’m choosing:

1. 7 days of juicing only.

I’m on Day 3 of juicing now and it’s going WONDERFULLY! It’s a completely different experience than I had last time. I still have a ton of energy, have wanted to keep drinking (last time I couldn’t even look at juice), and am feeling really really good. I feel awesome about doing this for my body and I’m super excited for all the healing going on in my body as we speak.

To make it inevitable that it happened, I enrolled everyone who reads my blog in it :) , put it on each day of my calendar (“Day 3 of Juice Fast!” Day 4 of Juice Fast!”), and have been making juice every night before I go to bed so I have something when I wake up in the morning (when I’m the hungriest).

2. Connecting one on one with people. I feel best when I’m off my computer and in front of people, and I’ve felt really inspired to start letting people know what I know. I don’t necessarily want to do it in a “let me teach you” authoritative style, but I do want to work with people on a friend-to-friend basis. People constantly tell me how I inspire them, and I want to do that more often.

I put an ad on Craigslist under the “strictly platonic” section :) , and already had 2 people respond. I also met 3 REALLY AWESOME people yesterday. I met the one guy from Twitter, and he brought his wife and mother-in-law along. I didn’t necessarily connect with them to inspire them – but it does help me in my goals of connecting more with people.

3. 1762 clients for Burn Your To Do List. This is the one that might take longer than 30 days – not because I don’t believe I can do it, but because I need to make sure we have the appropriate number of staff first. I don’t want to take on too many clients and then end up making them all upset. We’re in an awesome place with the site as far as making clients happy and I have no desire to jeopardize that.

I started on my sales letter the day I made this post. :)

4 – 7. Flight tickets to home, London, Kenya, and Dominican Republic.

Coming soon! The day I made my post though, my friend Steph (one of the people moving to Dominican Republic) randomly called me and said she’d be happy to host me for as long as I want when I go to the DR… and she didn’t even see this post!

8. 500 sales per month of this delicious chocolate drink I’ve been drinking. I haven’t even created a website or ordered my first batch for sale yet, but I want to start selling this super-amazing drink I’ve really been loving. It’s not part of an MLM or anything – just a delicious raw vegan drink that has tons of superfoods and antioxidants in it, and gives an INSANE amount of energy. It can be made into ice cream or in a shake, and I actually have to ration down my amounts because sometimes it gives me so much energy that I can’t even sit down. I have been really excited about selling this because it’s something I could feel awesome about. It’s a super-healthy product that really helps people… and everyone loves chocolate!

I made a tentative site last night at ChocolateJUMP.com! I haven’t edited the letter yet and still need to work out shipping costs (figured if anyone orders now, because I’m still waiting on my initial order to come in, they’ll get free shipping as a thank you for waiting)… but I finished the rough draft at 8pm last night, and when I woke up at 5:30 am this morning, I already had a sale!! :)

9. Tons and tons of energy as if I was drinking the chocolate drink every single moment. Thanks to both the chocolate and my juice recipes I have been feeling super-high 80% of the time, and now I’d like to up it even more. :)

I’m still feeling AWESOME and energetic. That being said, I’m OK if I need some downtime with the juicing. Up until now though, I’ve had endless reserves of energy. :)

10. Will weigh 142 pounds. At 5’8 I’m already at a healthy weight but I think 142 would be a superb goal. Your outer body reflects your inside body and with all the work I’ve been doing, it’s high time I showed it and got rid of the flab.

I didn’t weigh myself at the start of juicing so I don’t know how much I’ve released, but I know I’ve already released some. Obviously this is in large part due to the juicing. I know 6 pounds will come back no matter what (because my intestine is going to be empty after I juice for a while, and when I eat again, that will no longer be the case), but I plan on staying high raw and still juicing a ton throughout the month. This is going to happen.

11. A hair cut and color. This is a smaller one, but I’m overdue. :)

Will happen. :)

12. Starting up belly dancing again. I miss it!

I’m waiting until my juicing is over so that I don’t push my body too much, but I’ve already lined up where I’ll be taking classes (there’s a place within walking distance from my house! Yee-hah!).

13. Keeping a super-happy relationship with Otto.

Things have been wonderful with us. I can easily say we’re both happier than we’ve ever been with each other and I feel more and more in love with him every day. :)

14. My income being passive again. This has been happening more and more but I’d like to get it to the point where it used to be – where I could just stop working for months and months at a time and not have concern about one single email coming in to me. I drew a picture of my business bank account showing $106,817.63, and my personal account at $95,242.76. I know this isn’t millions of dollars but I want more than I could ever want or need, and I can’t see needing more than that right now. I might in the future… like I said, I’ll probably make what I choose bigger and bigger as I start making it happen.

Can you say Burn Your To Do List? Chocolate JUMP? :) Looking at fulfillment companies now for the latter, and I am getting less and less emails about BYTDL daily. Our management team there is just phenomenal. Jamie (my online business manager) = the highlight of my life. :)

So that’s it! It’s the early morning of Day 3 and I’m so excited to see what happens come May 22 when I’ve met all of these!! Can’t wait to see what my next set of choices will look like :)

Everything I’m Making Happen In The Next 30 Days…

Apr 22

I was talking with one of my coaches the other day, and she told me that drawing pictures is an incredible way to start manifesting what you want. Pictures really help get the subconscious on board, and actually drawing them is a lot more powerful than cutting out pictures.

My coach also gave me the assignment to choose 10 things that I want in my life every morning when I wake up (“choosing” is a lot more powerful than “wanting”). She said I’d be surprised at how quickly those things would start happening.

With her suggestion, I put the 2 together and made a poster of (a few more than) 10 things I am choosing. I put it in my bathroom so that every day when I go to brush my teeth, I can look at what I’ve chosen. With the exception of one of them (I’ll explain in a minute), I plan on having all of these things within 30 days.

Some of these aren’t huge – they’re just things I wanted when I was making the poster. Other things are much harder, but I think they’ll happen. I’m going to post progress updates on my blog and would love any support and help anyone can offer me. :)

Once this poster pans out, I’ll probably dare to go bigger and bigger and see what else I can come up with. Here’s what I have so far:

Full poster here.

Ignore the fact that drawing isn’t my specialty. At all. :D

I’ve gotta say though, even just drawing this stuff was a TON of fun! I felt so energized and in such an awesome mood! My friend called me right after I was done and he was feeling exhausted. He said just how excited I was helped him feel a lot better, and 100% of my good mood was from that poster.

Anyway, here’s what I’m choosing:

1. 7 days of juicing only. I am going to give this another go. I know it sucked the last time, but I think that’s because I did it with too many vegetables (too alkalizing) and not enough fruit. Also, I am doing this with a different intention in mind. I think it was mostly for weight loss last time, even though I may have convinced myself into believing otherwise. This time I have studied a lot about digestion and really want to do this as a way to appreciate my body and do some intense cleansing. The weight loss is a nice benefit but it truly isn’t my main goal and I’m not even weighing myself to start it off.

I don’t want to take on too many clients and then end up making them all upset. We’re in an awesome place with the site as far as making clients happy and I have no desire to jeopardize that.

4. Flight ticket home. I miss my family and friends in Philly!

5. Flight ticket to London, and then I want to Eurail throughout Europe. I am so excited to go explore there!

6. Flight ticket to Kenya. I’ve been aching to go on a safari for a long time now.

7. Flight ticket to Dominican Republic. My friends Steph and Todd are moving there, and my friend Bruce is already there. The fact that I love being near the water only elevates my enthusiasm a million percent.

8. 500 sales per month of this delicious chocolate drink I’ve been drinking. I haven’t even created a website or ordered my first batch for sale yet, but I want to start selling this super-amazing drink I’ve really been loving. My new love… tea!

Apr 21

Lately I’ve gotten really into different herbs (Mother Nature’s “medicine cabinet”) and the different things that they can do to help our bodies.

It’s so interesting to me how I might get an herb because I heard it does one thing, but then feel additional things happening to my body. I’ll look it up and then find out that the herb can do whatever I’m experiencing too.

It’s incredible how potent and powerful herbs are. It constantly shocks me at how behind us westerners are compared to easterners with medicine/healing.

You can use herbs in lots of ways. I plan on making some kind of ebook soon and then donating 100% of the profits to charity. For this post though, I’m just going to mention a few things about one way to infuse herbs into your body, which is by making tea.

I recently went to Souvia Tea in Phoenix (they also have an online store) and asked a ton of questions.

Here are some cool things I learned:

- When you buy a tea bag, you’re getting mashed up stuff. You have no idea where the herbs are coming from or what they’re remnants of. With looseleaf teas, you get fresher, higher quality herbs and flowers. They smell significantly better and look a ton more vibrant.

- Rooibos teas make excellent iced teas and regular teas. These are my favorite because they’re caffeine free (I’m not sure about you, but caffeinated tea dehydrates me bigtime).

- A lot of looseleaf tea is the same price as tea bags. I got a few kinds of tea for $5.99 for the “trial” package, which makes 20-25 cups of tea. Some of the other ones were more expensive, but I got those more for the herbs in them, which are traditionally expensive.

- If you’re making iced tea, instead of putting 2 tablespoons of tea in your tea ball or french press, put 3 or 4 (this more concentrated batch accounts for the ice in the tea).

When I went, I first asked for a tea that includes fennel (great for digestion – something else I’ve been learning a lot about lately). The girl showed me this one. It smelled awesome and I bought it.

I also got this one (it’s a phenomenal cleanser) and this one (just because it smelled amazing).

The other one I got includes the “Chinese herb of immortality”, and I’m excited to see how it works for me. That’s this one.

Another phenomenal tea is yerba mate. I have been in love with that since I lived in Buenos Aires. Both the looseleaf kind and the bottles that are riddled with sugar are extraordinary for focus, clarity, and energy. I recently learned that some of the popular energy drinks like Monster (I think that’s the one) include yerba mate.

Juices And Smoothies 101

Apr 19

As you know if you follow my Twitter or Facebook streams, I drink a TON of juice (and sometimes smoothies).

For my body (NOT EVERYBODY), juicing is better than smoothies at this time. That’s for a few reasons:

- When you make a smoothie, all of the fiber from the fruits and vegetables is still included. With juice, it is NOT. That means you can directly digest all of the nutrients from the fruits and veggies without any hold-up from the fiber. This gives your body a break and creates a nice healing process.

- Because there’s no digestion hold-up, you get an immediate surge of energy.

- With juicing, it’s easier to get important veggies in. If I put kale in a smoothie, for example, the smoothie is NOT going to taste good (in my opinion). The same goes for cilantro, parsley, and dandelion greens. In a juicer, the taste will easily get concealed when other key ingredients are put in.

- I can’t eat a ton of food. Juice is nice and light and doesn’t make me feel weighed down.

- A juice usually has more veggies versus fruit, so you’re not taking in as much sugar.

- There’s a juice I drink every morning (recipe coming) that jump-starts my whole day. I drink it right away and it gets my digestion jump-started and gets me going with lots of focus and energy.

The juicer I use is the Omega 8005 Juicer – Wheatgrass, Fruit and Vegetable Juicer. This is what Dr. Mercola recommends and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.

The other “holy grail” juicer is the Green Star Juicer. This is what Otto uses (and loves). After using both, I think my Omega is more powerful, but the Green Star makes more juice (because of the blade it uses). The Green Star is more expensive initially but probably cheaper in the VERY long run if you make a ton of juice like I do.

If budget is an issue, you can also get an inexpensive juicer. My friend Mona successfully juice feasted (drank juice alone) for several months with a Jack LaLanne juicer. She just strained out her juices with a bag to remove all pulp/fiber. :)

There are some reasons why smoothies might work better for people:

- Smoothies will keep you fuller for far longer. I think juicing and smoothies take the same amount of time to make, but a smoothie lasts longer. If you don’t have the luxury of time like I do and want a way to get more fruits and veggies in, a smoothie is a great choice.

- Random thing, but spinach is a lot easier to put in a smoothie versus juice (it seems to take forever to go through the spout of a juicer). There are lots of superb minerals in spinach, and I think it’s probably the BEST veggie for smoothies since you can’t really taste it when you throw a banana inside.

- The fiber in smoothies helps cleanse your body out and keeps your bowel movements regular.

- A smoothie usually has more fruits versus veggies, so if you’re easing your way into eating healthier, a smoothie might taste significantly better to you.

- You can throw in tons of supplements with a smoothie. Some things I like to add are bee pollen (FYI: We do NOT need as much protein as people say… and what we really need are the amino acids, not the protein. Bee pollen is an amazing source of every single amino acid needed for our body), MSM (great for de-calcifying the bones), marine phytoplankton, etc. If you’re working out or strongly feel like you need more protein, you can also throw some of that in. Sun Warrior Protein is the best one I’ve found.

I use a cheapskate blender, but most people swear by the Vitamix. I might end up getting that later if I feel the intuitive need for more smoothies.

I think that’s the biggest thing – listen to what your body is telling you. For example, Jaime has been craving tons of fruits lately. It’s what’s best for her body right now. I’ve been craving lots of greens – and definitely a ton of water.

I read a story in Victoria Boutenko’s 12 Steps to Raw Foods about when she and her children started eating raw. At one point, her son asked her to get some blueberries. He kept eating them as fast as she could buy them. At one point she bought a FLAT of them to last him for a while, and he ate them in a day. The same went for her daughter – I think she was eating grapefruit or something. Both of the children had health problems, and when Victoria took them to the doctor, it turns out that both kids were intuitively eating what helped them with their health problems. Her doctor had told Victoria to have her son eat blueberries because they’re supposed to be awesome for asthma (what her son had). Grapefruits were the suggested food for whatever her daughter had.

It never ceases to amaze me at how ridiculously wise our bodies are.

That being said, I’ll post some general recipes soon, since a lot of people have been asking for them. :)
