It's all about the lighting. The window behind you is what's killing the video. Try to get as much light as possible pointing at you from behind the webcam. Get a light like this: http://www.amazon.com/Designers-Edge-L-18-One-Light-500-Watt/dp/B00076Q0JC/ from Wallyworld or the local autoparts store. Make sure there are no light sources behind you, place the light somewhere behind the webcam facing you. I think you'll see a huge improvement in the video quality. You can get pretty good quality with even a cheap web cam.
