1’s

1’s are focused on morality and are usually rigid with controlled bodies. They are perfectionistic. They want the world to be perfect and are always angry and upset that it isn’t.

They often know what you need to do and are happy to tell you. They’re resentful when you or themselves are not perfect.

Since they know it’s not perfect to be angry they often stuff their anger in themselves. They’re always trying to make it better.

1’s are often SJ’s. They feel they must help reform other people’s character, will say drugs and alcohol are bad, and admire “right”, “good”, and “hard-working”.

Key Word(s):

Resentment, Anger. They expect the world to be one way and it’s not.

What They Consider Ideal In Others And What They Consider A Major Offense:

Ideal – Righteous Indignation
Offense – Accepting Mediocrity

Talking Style:

Instruct, sermonize. Look out for “shoulds”.

Negative Emotion/Passions:

Anger – it is deep seated and always there.

Under Stress And Intimacy:

They go to a 7 under intimacy and get idealist and fun loving. They become more intellectual and may spin their wheels.

They go to a 4 under stress. They can become depressed, spiteful, competitive, and jealous.

How To Notice One:

Can be tall and thin, rigid in appearance.

Doors Of Compensation (Can be used under your normal number, the one for stress, or the one for intimacy):

Toximania – Drug or alcohol addiction. Because 1’s deal with disappointment all the time, they want to drown it out.

Level 1: Social use of drugs for catharsis.

Level 2: Solitary use.

Level 3: Addiction.

Social Mode/Conservation Mode/Syntony Mode – How this type acts under each sub-type (each person has ONE sub-type):

Social: Not adapting, difficulty getting along with customs and behavior, constant tension.

Conservation: Anxiety – worrying about not being perfect, anxious.

Syntony:  Jealousy – Union with another is always threatened by someone more perfect (ie they think their lover may like someone else more). They get jealous.

Divine Ideas/Solution:

Divine Perfection: Experience that your essence is perfect and God created you perfectly. You don’t need to bring perfection on earth because it’s already there. Take off the imperfection blinders since you only ever find what you’re looking for. Look into the human heart instead.

One-Word Mantra:

Calm

Virtues (Use these to decrease or eliminate the negative emotions):

Serenity – versus anger – Know your essence is perfect, as is everyone else’s. Instead of looking to where it’s not perfect, think serenity. Serenity cancels anger. To get rid of the obsessive compulsive we neutralize anger by combining serenity.

We will of course experience anger in the future but it won’t be a permanent mood.

How To Stroke Them & How To Poke Them

Stroke: Let them teach you. Ask their opinion – “How can I be better?”

Poke: Call them lazy, be messy and sloppy, disarrange or dis-order their stuff.

Business Applications – The Best Jobs For Them

Positives: Quality Control, Accounting And Finance, Any job where precision counts, Heads of Standard Committees

Not So Positives: 1’s don’t like when rules change like with entrepreneurial startups  that have limited information or marketing technology products.
