I had an awesome weekend. Between hanging out with my nephew, decluttering my house (6+ trash bags worth of stuff – gone!), and finishing and implementing 12 Week Year (awesome book, by the way), I had a really busy and productive weekend.
Speaking of being productive…
I recently hired a new designer on Upwork to help implement more mug, shirt, and poster ideas. So far he’s created two designs for me, the first of which I’d like to share with you here.
Here’s how the design looks on a mug:
I actually found this concept while searching Amazon UK’s bestseller mug list. The design I saw was about bikes, but this particular style could apply to all kinds of things. For example…
- FIVE THINGS I LIKE ALMOST AS MUCH AS RIDING MY BIKE
- FIVE THINGS I LIKE ALMOST AS MUCH AS DRIVING MY CAR
- FIVE THINGS I LIKE ALMOST AS MUCH AS CREATING SCRAPBOOKS
And even better – this one design could be put on a mug, shirt, AND a poster on UGB – meaning 3 products from every one use of this design.
Another example:
Don once made a mug that said “Pit Bulls Make Me Happy” that sold well. Inspired, we made the same mug across all kinds of breeds – “Labradors make me happy”, “Rottweilers make me happy”, and so on.
In the last 30 days alone we sold 62 mugs in that style:

The bigger point is that maximizing whenever possible is a great thing and simple usually wins. :)
