My first weird Etsy niches post got such a fun response that I went back in for round two.
This time I pulled the actual sales numbers for every niche using my favorite research tool, EverBee, so you can see what’s really moving (and what only looks popular).
The short answer: The weird Etsy niches selling best right now are pocket hugs and “emotional support” crochet, silly goose bride shirts, cryptids mixed with national parks, Jimothy the raccoon, “lack of whimsy” crow shirts, and frogs howling at the moon. Some top listings are doing 150 to 300+ sales a month. Capybaras, axolotls and tardigrades looked big on Etsy’s search page but sold much less when I checked the numbers.
Quick note on the numbers: they’re EverBee’s estimates of last month’s sales (October 2026), plus total sales since the listing went up. Treat them as a gut check, not gospel.
What weird Etsy niches are selling best right now?
1. Pocket hugs and “emotional support” everything
EverBee data for this listing
This was the biggest surprise. Tiny crochet buddies with a little positive note attached. Some sell for $2.50 and still move hundreds a month.
- Emotional Support Crochet Gifts: about 237 sales last month and almost 20,000 sales total, with 2,600+ reviews
- Turtley Awesome Pocket Hug: about 313 sales last month, at $2.50
- Crochet Pocket Hug: about 269 sales last month
- Emotional Support Pickle: 500+ sales total
Don’t crochet? Same. Check out these Positive Pickle affirmation cards, which have 1,100+ sales. Printable cards, stickers or charms would work great here too.
2. Silly goose (especially for brides)
EverBee data for this listing
Goose memes are everywhere, but the money is in tying them to a life event.
- Embroidered Silly Goose Bride Shirt: about 165 sales and roughly $7,900 last month
- Another Silly Goose Bride shirt: 1,400+ sales total
- Funny Aunt Goose tee: about 98 sales last month
Idea stack: silly goose + bride, aunt, birthday, retirement, sports team… you get it.
3. Cryptids + national parks
EverBee data for this listing
Bigfoot and Mothman, but make it outdoorsy and vintage.
- Cryptid National Parks shirt: about 156 sales last month
- Bigfoot Dandelion shirt: about 179 sales last month. One review just said “bought this as a gift. She is going to love it!!”
- Dancing Cryptids tee: about 78 sales in its first month
4. Raccoons (and Jimothy)
EverBee data for this listing
“Jimothy” the raccoon is a viral thing right now, and sellers jumped on it fast.
- Jimothy Raccoon shirt: about 208 sales last month, 650+ total in about 3 months
- Retro Jimothy tee: about 108 sales last month
- Trash Panda Night Crew: about 82 sales last month
Viral trends fade, so move quickly or go with evergreen raccoon humor.
5. Whimsigoth crows and moths
EverBee data for this listing
Witchy, dark, a little romantic. “Lack of whimsy” is a newer phrase that’s taking off.
- Lack of Whimsy Crow shirt: about 163 sales last month, and it’s only 2 months old
- Another Lack of Whimsy shirt: about 154 sales last month
- Vintage Raven Floral blouse: about 275 sales last month
- Gothic Moth top: about 101 sales last month at around $47
6. Frogs howling at the moon
EverBee data for this listing
- Frog Moon vintage tee: about 133 sales last month, 1,100+ total
- Frog Howling to the Moon: about 130 sales last month
- We Thrift At Dawn: about 79 sales last month
The “howling at the moon” design works for other animals too. I found it on opossums, axolotls and more.
7. Tinned fish (but not on shirts)
EverBee data for this listing
Tinned fish is a real foodie trend, but sardine t-shirts barely sold. The gifts did:
- Engraved Sardine Pill Box: about 159 sales last month, 2,300+ total
- Tinned Fish playing cards: about 58 sales last month
Lesson: sometimes the niche is right but the product type is wrong.
8. Pickles
EverBee data for this listing
- Just A Spooky Pickle shirt: about 58 sales last month
- Duck and Pickle sweatshirt: about 46 sales last month
- “One Big Dill” first birthday shirt: about 36 sales last month
9. Pigeons
EverBee data for this listing
- Three Pigeon retro tee: 750+ sales total
- NYC Pigeon crop top: about 42 sales last month
10. Feral little creatures
EverBee data for this listing
Possums, bats and street cats, with a “chaotic gremlin” sense of humor.
- I Have Rabies bat shirt: 880+ sales total
- Support Local Street Cats: about 51 sales last month
- Opossum Howling at the Moon: about 47 sales last month
11. Bird humor
EverBee data for this listing
- Halloween Birds on a Branch shirt: about 138 sales in its first month
- Flight Was Never An Option (a penguin holding a knife!): about 93 sales last month
12. Rockhounding
EverBee data for this listing
The surprise here: a hat beat the shirts. This embroidered “Wait I See a Rock” hat did about 72 sales last month.
Which weird niches looked hot but didn’t sell as much?
These three had lots of listings and badges on Etsy’s search page, but the sales were much quieter:
- Capybaras: the best shirts I found did about 25 sales a month
- Axolotls: about 20ish a month
- Tardigrades (water bears): the top tardigrade tee did about 26 a month
EverBee data for this listing
They’re not bad. They’re just smaller, so test a few designs instead of going all in.
What patterns keep showing up?
- Niche + life event. Silly goose + bride is the perfect example.
- Same design, different animal. “Howling at the moon” works on frogs, possums, axolotls…
- Ride a phrase early. “Lack of whimsy” and Jimothy are both new.
- Try a different product. Tinned fish sold as pill boxes, not shirts. Rocks sold as a hat.
- Tiny and cheap can win. Pocket hugs sell for a few dollars but move huge volume.
How did I find these?
Want to do your own digging? I searched each niche in EverBee, sorted by sales, and looked at last month’s sales, total sales and how old each listing was. A new listing doing 100+ sales a month tells you way more than an old one coasting.
Like always: remix the idea, don’t copy it.
Questions I get a lot
Is it too late to jump into a niche that’s already selling?
Usually not. Sales mean there are buyers. Just bring your own angle: a different phrase, a different product, a different audience.
Can I sell these as printables instead of physical products?
Some of them, yes. Pocket hug cards, affirmation cards and stickers are great fits. You can learn how to make printables here.
Are these sales numbers exact?
No. They’re estimates from EverBee, so use them to compare niches, not to predict what you’ll make.
Have fun with these! Tell me in the comments which one you’re trying. I read every one. :)
P.S. I use CustomHappy for product fulfillment. (It was my company, sold it.)
P.P.S. You can learn how to make printables here, or physical print on demand products here. (I’m of course not saying you’ll make the amounts these products make, but you do have to start somewhere.)
