I have a MILE long to-do list.
For the past week I’ve been feeling super-anxious because of all the things I need to get done. Amongst my list:
- Finish creating a presentation by August 1
- Speaking Engagement on August 7
- Write a chapter for a book that will be syndicated all over the world
- Come up with a proposal for a client
- Do 2 copywriting jobs
- …etc!
I’m currently traveling and haven’t had a lot of time to work. I figured I’d allocate Thursday to getting a lot of things done.
However, when Thursday came, I was just NOT in the mood to work.
I found myself wasting time all day, and before I knew it, it was 5PM.
UGH!
So I decided I’d “force” myself to work for a few hours, then reward myself by going out to play.
(I should have known, any time I use the word “force” I am NOT in my highest alignment.)
Luckily I looked at the room service menu and nothing was calling to me.
So I decided instead of getting something that wasn’t singing to my senses, I’d take myself out to dinner at Chart House instead. And I am SO glad I did!
My meal was MAGNIFICENT. The food was delicious, I was seated next to a huge and incredible aquarium, had the finest food, and great conversation with my waiter.
And you know what?
I had a notebook in my purse. I felt called to take it out and all of a sudden business ideas just flowed like crazy. All day I’d been trying to PUSH the work, but once I just took care of ME, I outlined out my entire presentation.
Not only that… but my waiter is going to help me house hunt when I move to Vegas, and possibly even become a client for my internet marketing business.
Lesson learned, AGAIN… when I stop and take care of me, and my highest choice, things just fall into place. <3
