How would you like to get more purchases from your Etsy customers? What seller wouldn’t want that?

More purchases mean an increase in earnings from home for sellers, allowing them to pay down debt and do more of the things they love. When your ecommerce business is thriving, you get to live your best life, and that’s a truly awesome thing.

As a way to increase the chances that Etsy shoppers will buy from them, there are lots of things sellers can do. And in this post, I’ll talk about ten of those things that can make your Etsy shop more successful.

Let’s get started…

Make sure your profile is complete and up-to-date.

Customers want to know who they’re buying from, and a well-written profile will give them the confidence to make a purchase. Include a photo, some information about your background and experience, and why you started selling on Etsy.

Etsy customers also love personal touches, perhaps more so than shoppers on other platforms. So they like it when they feel like they “know” sellers, as this feeling increases trust and makes shoppers feel more comfortable doing business with you.

Run sales and offer an Etsy coupon code on select products.

Discounts are a great way to encourage customers to buy from you, especially if they’re first-time buyers. You can offer a percentage off their purchase, free shipping, or a free gift with purchase.

Whatever you decide, make sure the discount is clearly advertised on your listing and in your shop announcement. You want customers to know that they’re getting a good deal when they buy from you.

To offer an Etsy discount code, go to your Shop Manager. Then, click Marketing and select Sales and discounts. From there, you can choose the option to create a promo code.

You’ll be able to choose when you want the coupon to expire and you’ll be able to specify whether it’s valid for one or multiple uses. You can also decide whether the coupon is valid for your entire shop or certain items only.

Add items that are in high demand on Etsy.

This one is pretty obvious, but it’s worth mentioning. If you want customers to buy from you, make sure you’re selling items that they actually want to buy!

Do some research to find out what items are selling well on Etsy and consider adding them to your shop. You can use the site’s search function to get an idea of what’s popular. Simply type in a keyword and take a look at the results that come up.

You can also use tools like SpotNiches and Keywords Everywhere to come up with new niches to tap into and strong keywords to use.

Make sure your items are well-photographed.

Etsy is a very visual platform, so it’s important to make sure your listing photos are high quality and accurately represent the products you’re selling.

Use bright, natural lighting and avoid using filters or excessive editing. Customers want to see what they’re actually going to get when they make a purchase, so it’s important to show them exactly that.

In addition to high-quality photos, you should use helpful titles and descriptions to give shoppers more information about your products. Be sure to include all relevant details, including size, materials, color, and any special features customers should know about.

Make sure your shop is well-branded.

Your Etsy shop is an extension of your brand, so it’s important to make sure it’s consistent with the rest of your marketing materials. Use the same colors, fonts, and logo that you use on other selling platforms, your website (if you have one), and your social media profiles.

This will help customers be able to easily recognize your brand, which will make them more likely to buy from you. Branding can also help you to stand out from the competition, which is especially important on a platform like Etsy where there are loads of other shops selling similar products.

Promote your listings on social media.

Social media is a great way to get the word out about your Etsy shop and drive traffic to your listings. Post photos of your products, share links to your listings, and run social media ads.

You can also use social media to build relationships with potential customers by engaging with them in the comments, liking and sharing their posts, and sending them direct messages.

Some of my favorite social media platforms include Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Participate in Etsy teams and forums.

Etsy teams are groups of sellers who come together to promote their shops and products. There are teams for just about every niche you can think of, so it’s a great way to connect with other like-minded sellers.

In addition to promoting your shop, you can also use Etsy teams to get feedback on your products, find out about new trends, and learn tips and tricks from more experienced sellers.

To find teams, go to your Shop Manager, click Community & Help then select Teams. You can use the search function to find teams that match your interests.

Another great way to connect with other Etsy sellers is by participating in the forums. The forums are a great place to ask questions, give and receive feedback, and connect with other members of the Etsy community.

To access the forums, go to your Shop Manager then click Community & Help and select Forums.

Join Etsy groups on Facebook.

Etsy groups on Facebook are similar to teams, but they’re not run by Etsy. They’re a great way to connect with other sellers, promote your shop, and get feedback on your products.

To find groups, go to Facebook and search for “Etsy group” in the search bar. Once you’ve found a few groups that look promising, request to join, and start participating in the discussions.

Use Etsy ads to reach new customers.

Etsy ads are a great way to get your products in front of potential customers who might not otherwise find your shop. You can target your ads to specific demographics, interests, and even locations.

To create an Etsy ad, go to your Shop Manager, click Marketing then select Etsy Ads. You’ll need to create a campaign, which will include your budget, start and end date, and the locations you want to target.

Etsy ads are a great way to boost your visibility, but they can also be costly. Be sure to set a budget that you’re comfortable with and track your results to see if the ads are worth the cost.

Provide excellent customer service.

Make sure you’re providing excellent customer service to your customers. This includes responding to their messages quickly, packaging and shipping their orders promptly, and going above and beyond to make sure they’re happy with their purchase.

Great customer service will keep customers coming back, and it’s also one of the best ways to get positive reviews. As a general rule of thumb, aim to respond to all messages within twenty-four hours.
