If you’re a member of Low Hanging System, you likely have an Etsy shop. I personally have several. Etsy is a great place to sell ecommerce goods, especially those with unique designs and customizable options.
I highly recommend using Etsy as a selling platform if you don’t already. And for everyone who does use Etsy already, there are a few cool tools that I wanted to talk about below.
These tools help improve your Etsy workflow and better manage your shops by enabling you to do things like…
- bulk edit and publish your listings, saving you time and energy
- create product catalogs of your listings, which you can share via social media to grow your audience
- research your competitors to see what tags they use, what their top-selling products are, when they re-list their items
- and more
Several of the tools I mention are totally free, and all the tools can make a positive difference in terms of managing your Etsy business and increasing your sales volume.
That said, let’s take a look at some of my favorite Etsy tools and apps…
Vela
Vela lets you bulk edit your Etsy listings and manage all of your shops in one place. It’s 100% free to use and I’ve heard a number of people say Vela is especially useful for anyone who has outsourcers that help manage their Etsy shops.
Since Etsy doesn’t let you create sub-users with your shops, some people worry their outsourcers might take over their main accounts, changing their passwords, et cetera. With Vela, you can avoid this and put your mind more at ease.
Here’s how to get started with Vela:
- Create an account.
- Click Go to Etsy.
- Click Allow Access.
You’ll be able to connect multiple shops (if you have them), allowing you to manage all of your Etsy (and Shopify) shops from the same place. And you can use filters to search for specific listings you wish to edit or you can click All to edit all your listings at once, thus saving you a lot of time and energy.
To add a new shop…
- Click the downward pointing arrow in the top left.
- Click the ADD SHOP button.
- Click Go to Etsy.
- Click Allow Access (make sure you’re logged into the Etsy account you want to add to Vela).
To edit your Etsy listings…
- Select the listings you wish to edit.
- Click the blue Edit button at the top.
- Perform whatever types of updates you want to make to your listings (updating the description, changing the tags, etc.).
- Click Apply.
- Click Sync Updates.
Here’s a quick screencast video walking you through Vela’s various bulk-editing features:
(Note: The video has no sound. Click the full-screen button to get a clearer view of each feature.)
My Craft Tools
MyCraftTools.com is a site with a bunch of Etsy tools (both free and paid) that help you manage and improve your shop. The tools available let you do things like…
- Discover the most popular items in your shop
- Verify your tags to make sure you’re always using all 13 spots available
- Check your competitors to see which tags they use and when they re-list their items
To use MyCraftTools.com, just click the Login TO YOUR ETSY SHOP button at the top right. Then, click the blue Allow Access button.
The free tools available on MyCraftTools.com include the following:
- Shop Info
- Tag Check
- Search for a Tag
- Title Search
- Section Report
- Listing Report
- Top Sellers
Shop Info
This tool tells you things about your competitors such as…
- the number of active listings a shop has
- the number of hearts a shop has
- the top 10 most viewed items
- the 10 items with the most hearts
Tag Check
This tool lets you know which of your listings, if any, aren’t using all 13 of Etsy’s tag slots. It also tells you if any of your listings’ regular tags are duplicates of your category tags and vice versa.
Search for a Tag
With this tool, you enter the Etsy shop name you want to research. Next, you input the tag (tag searches have the following options: exact, contains, starts with, and ends with) and click GO! You’ll then get a list of all the listings from that particular Etsy shop that meet the tagging criteria you input.
Title Search
You do the same thing here as you did with the Tag Search tool. The only difference is you’re searching for titles, not tags.
Section Report
This tool reveals information about each of your shop’s sections, including the top 10 tags and title keywords so you can make sure this info is what you want. You can also research your competitors’ sections to see if there are any tags or keywords they use that you should use too.
Listing Report
With this tool, you enter in either your own shop name or the name of one of your competitors’ shops and then specify the number of days back you want to research: 7, 14, 30, 60, 90, or 120.
For example, when I researched one of my own shops, the tool told me I’ve listed or re-listed 645 items out of the 872 items I currently have listed over the last 30 days. And it told me I usually list or re-list items on Saturdays around 2PM. Here are the charts it gave me:
Top Sellers
The Top Sellers tool lets you research your competitors’ shops by checking out their top-selling items. You can see the number of sales there’ve been for each item as well as each item’s price.
MyCraftTools.com also includes the following premium tools:
- Add Text to Listing
- Add Tags
- Replace Tags
- Remove Tags
- Banner Creator
To use these tools, you’ll need to purchase credits. You can get 5 credits for $5, 15 credits for $10, 25 credits for $15, or 45 credits for $20.
Nembol
Nembol is a tool that lets you do a few cool things with your Etsy products. First, it lets you bulk publish your listings on the following sites and marketplaces:
- Amazon
- eBay
- Shopify
- Tumblr
- Kijiji
- Storenvy
- WooCommerce
- PrestaShop
Plus, it lets you share your products, sync your products’ quantities, and update your listings simultaneously across all of the sales channels you connect, saving you a lot of effort.
You can try any of Nembol’s plans for free for 14 days (no credit card required). After that, pricing starts at $39/month.
To get started with Nembol…
- Click the red Use Nembol button.
- Fill in your information and click GET STARTED.
- Click the verification link in your email and login.
- From here, I chose the “Import from Channels” option.
- On the next screen, I clicked the Etsy login button.
- Click Allow Access.
- Click the Etsy Import button and then OK.
- Once the import is complete, go to the Products tab on the left to see your imported products.
- To connect additional channels and products, go back to the Channels tab and repeat the above process with the other available sales channels and social media sites.
Products tab
On the products tab, you can view all of the products you have for sale on your linked sales channels. After selecting the products you want to work with, go to the Products Selected dropdown and choose one of the following options:
- Publish (you can choose channels later)
- De-list (you can choose channels later)
- Delete
- Duplicate
- Export TXT for Google Merchant
- Export CSV for Facebook Catalog
Channels tab
As I previously mentioned, the Channels tab is where you can configure the various selling platforms you use, including Etsy, eBay, and Amazon.
Dashboard
On your Dashboard, you can see two different types of stats about your business:
1. Total sales (for the last 7, 28, or 90 days) for all of your configured sales channels
2. Total clicks (for the last 7, 28, or 90 days) on your social media posts
Subscription
This is where you can choose a Nembol pricing plan.
NOTE: You need to have the Quantity Sync option enabled in order to use all of Nembol’s features, including getting to view orders and sales stats, as it notes in the Total sales screenshot above. The Basic plan is the only plan that doesn’t include this option.
Catalog Machine
Catalog Machine lets you create and share customized product catalogs of your Etsy listings, which can be a big asset to your digital marketing strategies.
Catalog Machine has two pricing options: Lite for $19/month and Pro for $49/month. You can learn more about pricing here.

- Click Use all my products.

- Name your grid and select your grid size.

- Play around with adding different page elements, including…

- background
- product list
- new pages (product grids, cover, price lists, and more)
- When you’re done, click the View/Download button.
- You can preview your catalog, get a public online link to it, or download it as a PDF.
- Click PUBLISH & SHARE.
- Specify your privacy settings (public, direct, hidden, protected, email).
- Share your catalog.
- You can also embed your catalog on your website if you have one (paid plans only).
Bonus – EtsyOnSale
Another cool tool, which I’ve written about before, is Etsy on Sale.
This is a great tool that allows you to run mass sales (among other things) on your listings.
As a shop owner, you get five free credits to start. And with those credits you can schedule sales, edit tags, and auto-renew your listings using Etsy on Sale’s exclusive tools.
