After the holidays you may have noticed a decline in your sales. But Valentine’s Day is coming up (just 25 days away), and it presents a great opportunity to kick your sales into gear again.
Valentine’s Day is a significant gift-giving holiday. And with the ongoing pandemic situation, showering a loved one with gifts may be the most viable way of celebrating the special day, seeing as it’ll be difficult for people to go out for romantic dinners or do other related activities.
I’ve made posts in the past with Valentine’s Day mockups and promotional tools, including hashtags, coupon codes, and social media templates. But given the uniqueness of Valentine’s Day 2021, I thought I’d make an updated post with pandemic-inspired mockups and additional promotional tools.
This year’s post includes the following resources to help make your 2021 Valentine’s Day promotions more effective and engaging:
- Free downloadable Valentine’s Day product mockups (coffee mugs, travel mugs, shot glasses, and face masks)
- Valentine’s Day coupon code suggestions
- Hashtags related to Valentine’s Day (as well as a few anti-Valentine hashtags)
- And fill-in-the-blank social media templates
That said, let’s dive in…
Valentine’s Day mockups
A couple of years ago, I had my fantastic designers make Valentine’s Day mug mockups. You can download those for free here.
These mockups don’t factor in the pandemic, though, and they’re just for coffee mugs. So for Valentine’s Day 2021, you’ll find both regular and pandemic-inspired mockups for shot glasses, travel mugs, and face masks in addition to coffee mugs.
All of the mockups are 100% free to use and come in four sizes: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. You can use them with your social media promotions to make them more engaging so you can attract more customers.
You can also add them to your Amazon and Etsy product listings, just as long as you don’t use them as your products’ main images. Plus, you’d want to make sure to take down the images after Valentine’s Day.
You can check out a preview of the mockups below:

(This helps us gauge if people like these and if we should keep adding more. Please allow a few minutes for the email to hit your inbox.)
After downloading the mockups, just add your designs using any graphic software and upload the images to your Valentine’s Day promotions and/or product listings.
Promote your Valentine’s Day products
To make your Valentine’s Day promotions even simpler to create, below you’ll find design ideas, coupon codes, hashtags, and social media templates for you to you.
As previously mentioned, with the pandemic continuing to take a toll, people will be less inclined to go to restaurants or partake in other activities due to social distancing restrictions and stay-at-home orders this Valentine’s Day.
Also, the way people have been dating and maintaining their relationships, in general, has been different over the last year. For example, especially in budding relationships, people have been going on Zoom dates and they wear masks if they do meet in person.
Also, thanks to quarantining, some relationships have effectively turned long-distance, and travel restrictions have made visiting a significant other much more challenging for anyone who was already involved in long-distance relationships pre-pandemic.
With all of this in mind, there are a lot of creative, pandemic-inspired angles you can take with this year’s Valentine’s Day designs.
Here’s a list of pandemic-related ideas you could factor into your ideas:
- Zoom dates
- social distancing, keeping 6-feet apart
- quarantining, self-isolation
- toilet paper shortages
- hand sanitizer
- wearing a mask
- washing your hands
- getting vaccinated
For Valentine’s Day, your designs can be cute and sweet — cheesy even. Puns are a hit, as is any type of humor. Or, you can go the romantic and sentimental route.
Here’s some inspiration I found after running a search on Etsy for “Valentine’s Day 2021 pandemic”:
You can also make designs for single people, or you can go the anti-Valentine’s Day route, such as…
Additionally, your Valentine’s Day designs don’t have to deal only with romantic love (or the lack thereof). You can create designs aimed at celebrating close friendships or even love for pets, too.
Customers are always happy to get a good deal on gifts and holiday products. And holiday-inspired coupon codes are a fun way to combine the excitement around Valentine’s Day with the joy of saving money. So in keeping with the Valentine’s Day spirit, you can make coupon codes using the following list of words:
If you use the Low Hanging System and are interested in creating codes on ecommerce sites, here are a few how-to articles about creating coupons for Amazon, Etsy, and eBay.
Plus, once you create a coupon code, you can submit it to RetailMeNot.com to make it available to an even wider customer base.
To promote your Valentine’s Day products via social media, add the following hashtags to your messages. That way, you link your tweets and posts to the holiday and can attract more viewers.
Depending on what you’re promoting, you could also use hashtags like…
Social media templates
