For LHS members, people often wonder what their profits will be and if they’re setting their prices correctly.
Sellers need to take into account their products’ base cost and shipping as well as any fees associated with the selling platform. Etsy, especially, includes several fees and commissions that sellers need to consider when pricing their products.
To help you keep track of these costs so you can optimize your profits, one of my assistants created this super useful LHS Etsy Profit Calculator.
The calculator is totally free to use. All you have to do is enter your email address below and you’ll receive the instant download.

How to use the Etsy Profit Calculator
Using the calculator is very straightforward. Plus, directions are included on the spreadsheet. All you have to do is adjust the orange areas of the spreadsheet (do not try to change the grey areas).
Just input the following information about your products:
- base cost
- base shipping cost
Then, the calculator will tell you…
- the base cost and base shipping cost total
- Etsy’s payment fees ($.25)
- Etsy’s payment commission (3%)
- Etsy’s commission (5%)
- the total amount of Etsy’s fees and commissions
Next, input…
- the price you want to charge for your product
- the price you want to charge for your product’s shipping
And the calculator will tally…
- the total amount that customers will pay
- your profit
- your profit margin percentage

MIGHT CONSIDER “FREEZING” THE TOP SECTION OF THE SPREADSHEET (@ ROW 6) SO IT’S ALWAYS ON TOP & WE WON’T HAVE TO KEEP SCROLLING UP TO SEE WHAT COLUMN WE ARE IN.

This doesn’t seem to include the 7% platform fee that gearbubble add to the item cost. I’m not sure why they don’t just add it to the item cost, but i am finding it all rather confusing, to be honest!
this is still a very helpful tool, though!

Thanks Rachel :) You will save yourself some trouble if you add a message “you must turn off ad-blocking to access the opt-in form” I use brave browser, and did not see the opt-in form until I turned off the ad-blocking. If you put that somewhere in large letters (LOL) you might have fewer people asking about it. – (Theresa mentioned it, but people don’t seem to see it in the comments)

I know you’ve already done some revisions, which are great – but how about a ‘date listed’ column from which renewal fees could be calculated. i’m into etsy for the long haul, and sometimes my listings renew several times before they sell. thanks for posting this!

Sounds very handy.
Once again, there is no opt-in form except for the main email opt in at the top right. That sure doesn’t do anything since I’m already subscribed. I’ve tried three browsers for this. no opt in form ever shows.
this isn’t the first time I’ve pointed this out, as have others here and previously. There’s something screwed up in the way you are trying to include an opt in form.

VERY NICE AND WILL BE QUITE USEFUL. ON THE ETSY FEES THERE IS ONE COLUMN MISSING, THE $.20 LISTING FEE WE ARE CHARGED ON EVERY SALE. oN THE SHIPPING CHARGES, IT WOULD ALSO BE NICE IF WE COULD CALCULATE THE SHIPPING SURCHARGE THAT gEARBUBBLE NOW CHARGES ME ON EVERY SALE.
