As a way to prevent cancellations and refunds due to orders not arriving in time to meet customers’ expectations, you can use Etsy gift card images, which I’m going to talk more about below.

There are always going to be some customers who overlook production and shipping times for orders no matter how upfront and crystal clear you are about what they should expect.

This is especially true around major gift-giving holidays, like Christmas.

Even if you specify deadlines for placing holiday purchases, some customers wait until the last minute to shop. And as annoying as this can be, late-minute shoppers are a source of revenue that you don’t want to miss out on.

So you want to make every effort to satisfy last-minute shoppers. And using Etsy gift card images are one way to do that. Having a successful Etsy business is one of the best online jobs you can have and these gift card images can help improve your business so you can live your best life.

To learn more about what Etsy gift card images are and how you can use them to save more sales and earn more money, keep reading below.

What are Etsy gift card images and how can you use them?

In a nutshell, Etsy gift card images are digital cards that include a picture of the item(s) customers ordered and say “Your gift is on its way!”

You can give these cards to customers if their orders aren’t going to arrive by the time customers need them. That way, customers can give these cards to the intended recipients of their orders so they aren’t left empty-handed.

There are a couple of reasons why this type of card is great.

First, Etsy gift card images can help to prevent more refunds and cancellations from happening. That way you can increase your earnings from home and make extra money online. By using clear and accurate images of the items that were ordered, customers know exactly what they’re buying and recipients know exactly what they’re getting.

Customers obviously want the actual orders to arrive, but gift card images act as placeholders that customers may be satisfied with so long as they have something to give the intended recipient of their orders.

Second, using gift card images on Etsy can help to increase brand awareness. You can include your shop name and a link to your store on the images. So when customers see your gift card images, they’ll be more likely to remember your shop and come back in the future.

How to create and use Etsy gift card images

Creating Etsy gift card images is a pretty simple process.

You’ll need to make a template that leaves space for a picture of what was ordered and includes the words “Your gift is on the way!” You can use an image-creation tool like Canva to do this.

Next, anytime an order is going to arrive later than customers need it, you can download a picture of what they ordered and upload it to your template. Then, you can save your gift card images as either .png or .jpg files and send them to your customers.

Alternatively, you can make this process more DIY for customers, but it will require some extra work on your part on the front end.

If you want, you can pre-create gift card images for ALL of your Etsy listings. If you have thousands of Etsy listings, as I do, this might not be worth the effort. But if you’re just starting out and don’t have that many listings posted yet, it could be worth it.

To do this, add the gift card image inside the image section for each of your Etsy listings. Then, in your listings’ descriptions, tell customers what the image is for and how they can download it. (All they should have to do is right-click the image and then select Save As.) This way, customers can download the images themselves and you won’t have to create any of the images as needs for them arise.

Tips for using gift card images with your Etsy business

When it comes to using gift card images, there are a couple of things to keep in mind.

The first thing is that you should use clear, accurate, and high-quality images of the products you’re selling. This will help customers and recipients know exactly what they’re getting and reduce the number of refunds and cancellations that occur.

Second, you need to make sure you clearly and sufficiently explain the intended purpose of the images to your customers so they’re more likely to take you up on your offer as opposed to asking for a cancellation or refund.

You can include this information in your listings’ descriptions or you can create a well-thought-out saved response in your Etsy messages that you can easily reuse.
