A lot of you asked me for niches you can actually use with print on demand and printables, not just crochet stuff. So this time I went looking specifically for mugs, shirts, ornaments, stickers and digital downloads. (If you missed the earlier rounds, here’s round one and round two.)
I ran a few hundred searches in EverBee and only kept listings that sold 40+ last month and are less than a year old.
The short answer: Six weird Etsy niches working right now for print on demand and printables are gingerbread letter ornaments (one listing did about 1,000 sales last month), stained-glass bookshelf mugs, cute dragons, printable junk journal kits (772 sales in their first month), quirky PDF sewing patterns like a chicken oven mitt, and themed coloring book bundles. Most of the top printables sell for under $8.
Quick note on the numbers: they’re EverBee‘s estimates for last month, plus total sales since the listing went up. Use them as a gut check, not gospel.
What weird Etsy niches are selling right now for print on demand?
1. Gingerbread letter ornaments
EverBee data for this listing
Each letter of a name, shaped like a little gingerbread cookie, hung on the tree. It’s personalized, it’s cheap, and it’s perfect timing for the holidays.
- Christmas Gingerbread Letter Ornaments: about 1,003 sales last month at $6.32 a letter, 1,860 total
- Personalized Gingerbread Alphabet ornament: about 161 sales last month
- Gingerbread letter 2-pack: about 95 sales last month, and it’s two months old
Remix ideas: printed acrylic or ceramic ornaments with a gingerbread-style initial, a “gingerbread family” ornament with everyone’s names, gingerbread name mugs for kids, or a printable gingerbread name banner.
2. Stained-glass bookshelf mugs
EverBee data for this listing
Book lovers buy for themselves AND get gifted constantly. This mug wraps a stained-glass style bookshelf with flowers all the way around.
- Stained-Glass Floral Bookshelf Mug: about 148 sales last month at $24, nearly 5,900 total and 1,000+ reviews
- Fall book pumpkin sweatshirt: about 157 sales last month
- Funny reading mug: about 73 sales last month
One warning: a lot of bookish designs quote specific books or characters. Skip those. Make it about the reader, not someone else’s story.
Remix ideas: bookshelf mugs in different styles (cottagecore, dark academia, spooky), “one more chapter” designs, a personalized “[Name]’s Library” mug, or printable bookplates and reading trackers.
3. Cute dragons
EverBee data for this listing
Dragons are having a moment, thanks to all the fantasy book readers. The sellers winning here are going cute, not scary.
- Dragon Spiral Ornament kit and pattern: about 278 sales last month, and it’s two months old
- Dragon wind spinner pattern: about 180 sales last month, also two months old
- Sleeping baby dragon shelf sitter: about 76 sales last month
I know these are crochet, but the buyer is what matters. These people want cute dragons, and you can give them one on a mug, ornament or sticker. Just don’t use dragons from a specific book or show.
Remix ideas: a baby dragon reading a book (two niches in one!), dragon “mom” or “dragon keeper” shirts, cute dragon sticker sheets, or a dragon ornament with a name.

4. Printable junk journal kits
EverBee data for this listing
This one blew my mind. One shop launched a set of vintage-style printable journal pages about a month ago, and almost every listing in the set is selling hundreds.
- Printable Junk Journal Kit: about 772 sales last month at $7.99, with a 7.3% conversion rate
- Fussy cut ephemera: about 564 sales last month at $3.99
- Printable paper pack: about 545 sales last month
- Printable washi strips: about 500 sales last month
See what they did? One theme, broken into lots of small, cheap products. Buyers grab several.
Remix ideas: junk journal kits in a different theme (cottagecore garden, winter cabin, celestial, ocean), matching ephemera and tag packs, or a “starter bundle” that combines a few of your sets.
5. Quirky PDF sewing patterns
EverBee data for this listing
An oven mitt shaped like a chicken, with a ruffle tail. As a PDF pattern. It’s doing more in a month than a lot of shops do in a year.
- Chicken Oven Mitt Sewing Pattern: about 685 sales last month at $10.99, 5,300+ total
- Dog scrunchie bandana pattern: about 836 sales last month at $6.24
- Open-up pouch pattern: about 390 sales last month
You don’t need to be a sewing designer to learn from this. The lesson: practical object + cute animal shape = people can’t resist.
Remix ideas: if you sew, try other animal-shaped kitchen items. If you don’t, think about printable versions of the same idea: chicken-themed recipe cards, farmhouse kitchen printables, or pet bandana templates people can print and trace.
6. Themed coloring book bundles
EverBee data for this listing
Coloring pages are an old idea, but themed bundles with a TON of pages are crushing it.
- Spooky Coloring Book Bundle (850+ pages): about 271 sales last month at $5.11
- Personalized wedding coloring book: about 141 sales last month, three months old
- Horror color-by-number pages: about 140 sales last month, two months old
The spooky one is seasonal, so don’t copy that exact theme right now. Copy the format.
Remix ideas: cozy winter or Christmas coloring bundles, a personalized coloring book for birthdays or family reunions, or a weird-niche coloring book (frogs, possums, cryptids, take your pick from my earlier rounds).
Which niches almost made the list?
- 2027 planners: one planner bundle did about 1,500 sales last month, but it’s a resell-rights bundle. A regular 2026–2027 digital planner did about 541. Great timing for the new year.
- Ghost and wildflower shirts: 170+ a month, but very Halloween-specific.
- Kids’ cut-and-paste crafts: one showed huge numbers, but the views didn’t add up, so I didn’t trust it. Worth checking yourself though.
What patterns keep showing up?
- Personalization sells. Names on ornaments, names on coloring books, names on mugs.
- Break one theme into lots of small products. The junk journal shop is the perfect example.
- Cheap and digital can mean huge volume. Several of these printables are $4 to $8 and sell hundreds a month.
- Look past the product to the buyer. Crochet dragons tell you dragon fans are buying. Sell them something you can make.
- Avoid borrowed characters. Plenty of top bookish and dragon listings lean on famous books. Skip those.
How did I find these Etsy niches?
I searched hundreds of niche + product combos in EverBee (things like “dragon mug” and “junk journal printable”), filtered to at least 40 sales last month and under a year old, then opened each listing to check total sales, age and conversion rate.
Like always: remix the idea, don’t copy it.
Questions I get a lot
Are these good niches for beginners?
Yes. Printables and print on demand don’t need inventory, so you can test a few designs without much risk.
Can I sell the same idea as both print on demand and a printable?
Absolutely. A gingerbread name design can be an ornament, a mug, and a printable banner.
Are these sales numbers exact?
No. They’re estimates from EverBee, so use them to compare niches, not to predict what you’ll make.
Have fun with these! Tell me in the comments which one you’re trying. I read every one. :)
P.S. You can learn how to make printables here, or physical print on demand products here. (I’m of course not saying you’ll make the amounts these products make, but you do have to start somewhere.)
