These products make the best customized gifts for Father’s Day
Below, you’ll find a list of products available on CustomHappy.com with high selling potential around Father’s Day. You’ll also find a link to mockups (if my designers have created them) plus an Etsy design example you can use for inspiration.
When you create designs for your customized gifts for Father’s Day, create mostly evergreen, dad-related designs. Don’t focus exclusively on Father’s Day-specific designs. That way, your products have year-round selling potential.
You can include a few “Happy Father’s Day” designs if you’d like. But when it comes to selling Father’s Day gifts, the bulk of your designs should focus on the more evergreen topic of love and appreciation for father figures.
And don’t forget to create versions of your designs for the different ways of saying father and grandfather – for example, dad, papa, daddy, grandpa, pop pop, et cetera.
You can also create designs about…
- Fathers-to-be – Anyone whose partner is pregnant over Father’s Day
- Pet dads – Anyone who considers their fur baby (dogs, cats, etc.) their child
- Fathers who’ve passed away – People who’ve lost their dads and still want to keep their memories alive
- Adoptive dads
- Foster dads
- Stepdads / bonus dads
Create a mix of funny and sweet messages for your designs – for example, “You’re the best bonus dad in the world. I love you forever and always” or “If I had another grandfather, I’d kick him in the butt and go find you.”
Additionally, you can put most of the designs you create for one product on other products. For example, if you make a mug that says, “My foster dad is the greatest on the planet,” you can also put that phrase on a candle, coaster, journal, et cetera.
Remember to work smarter, not harder.
Here are some additional tips about creating winning Father’s Day designs:
- Keep your designs simple (Text-based designs using a simple black font work best)
- Use high-quality images (If you do include images, make sure they’re super clear)
- Offer personalization (This is a must for Father’s Day gifts. Let customers add names, dates, photos, or special messages to your designs)

How to optimize your customized gifts for Father’s Day
Once you create dad-related designs, you need to optimize your listings. Optimizing means adding images that show your product from a variety of angles. Plus, you want to add lifestyle images that show your products in use (use the mockups that I link to above).
Also, you need to add relevant keywords to your listings’ titles, descriptions, and tags.
Here’s a list of some popular Father’s Day-related keywords according to Etsy and Amazon:
Father’s Day keywords work well this time of year. And they help your listings gain visibility. But you should swap out your Father’s Day keywords for evergreen phrases after the holiday. Shoppers aren’t likely to search for “Father’s Day gifts” in October. But they may still search for “gifts for dad.”
Again, this helps you sell your products year-round, not just around Father’s Day.
